UFS hosts weekly meetings every Thursday at 8:00 pm in the Student Services Building, room #219. These meetings are about an hour-and-a-half to two hours long and consist of casual discussion groups or informative presentations. Members and interested students will be notified via email of all meetings, special events, movie showcases, campus activities, and speakers. This information is also available below in the current monthly calendar.

This Week's Meeting: 02/22/07 - Discussion
Topic:
Is there, and should there be, a line between religion and politics?

Darwin Day: 2/12/2007

On Monday, February 12, members read aloud from Charles Darwin's seminal work The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. The event took place from 8:00 AM — 5:00 PM at the tables behind Oglesby Union.

The archive below archived material from this event includes a confrontation that members of UFS had with an extremist preacher named Brother Micah. We note here that while the Union of Freethinking Students is not organizationally opposed to anyone's religion, the "freethinker" and "fundamentalist" are diametric opposites, regardless of what religion fundamentalism has rooted itself into at any given moment.
